1. The defense played well, for the most part

There were quite a few blown coverage moments and times that the defense could have made stops that weren’t. There were missed assignments and times that the defense was just simply gassed. However, overall, they played pretty well and only lost to what could be a top SEC team this season by 8 points when it came down to it. It could have even been less, but two missed field goals for the Aggies left six points on the field.

What has to get better though is that rush defense. The Tigers finished with 193 yards in a game that they honestly shouldn’t have gotten much running going at all. That unit has to get better in the coming weeks for sure, or the likes of Alabama, Georiga, Mississippi State, LSU and even Ole Miss could run all over them.

This unit lost quite a bit from the Draft a year ago and they are trying to figure that out, but overall they played pretty well against a strong offense from Auburn who showed the Aggies that a true freshman quarterback doesn’t have to throw for over 200 yards when he gets the support he needs from those around him.
