Scouting Report. 13. Pick Analysis. won 21-6 at Stanford. idle in Week 5. Oregon Ducks. player. 820

Oregon showed that they can win a defensive battle, taking down Stanford 21-6 in the Bay Area to improve to 3-1 on the year. The Ducks continue to rebound in the AP Top 25 after losing the season opener against Auburn, with their first Pac-12 victory likely to push Mario Cristobal’s squad up a spot or two into the top 15 of the poll.

Justin Herbert was once again a huge part of the Ducks victory, throwing for 259 yards and three touchdowns on 19-of-24 passing. Herbert did not have the benefit of a vintage Ducks ground game, as Oregon’s running backs CJ Verdell and Travis Dye combined for just 85 yards on 25 carries. But the defense held firm, holding Stanford to just 234 total yards of offense and forcing a K.J. Costello interception.

After taking down Stanford, Oregon heads into their first bye week. Coming out of the break, the Ducks will hit an October schedule that includes Cal, Colorado, and both Washington schools. If Oregon can survive with only one loss by the time the calendar flips to November, they will be right back up in the top 10.
