Michigan Football: 3 takeaways from ugly loss to Wisconsin in Week 4

3. Michigan has no identity on offense

Personnel. No one considered the simple fact that when you change offensive philosophies, your players don’t change right away.

Alabama is built to do what it does on offense, however, the Tide in 2013 couldn’t play the way they do now. Although they’ve changed what they want to do on offense, they don’t yet have the personnel to do it. They are stuck in this roster purgatory on offense, and it has shown this season.

Shea Patterson has not acclimated himself to the offense very well, but it’s not all on him. His presumed best returning tailback (Chris Evans) isn’t playing this season, and his best receiver played in his first game.

Against the Badgers, the few times the Wolverine offense started to get anything going they turned it over. Somehow they need to figure out what they want to do, and what they are talented enough to do.
