1. Sam Ehlinger is a Heisman candidate

It’s arguable that nobody means more to their team in all of college football than Sam Ehlinger does to Texas. He had another fantastic performance and Texas relied on him to carry it to a win once again. He did have help from running back Keaontay Ingram who had over 100 yards rushing and receiver Devin Duvernay came up big with another night of over 100 yards and a touchdown.

Ehlinger completed 20-of-28 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns. He also threw his first interception of the season tonight, but was able to put it behind him and bounce back with big-time throws. He also added 70 yards on the ground on 10 carries and was able to ice the game on a big third down run that he got for a first down with a little over a minute left in the game.

This is another big game for Ehlinger and one where he had multiple touchdowns yet again. He should start getting more and more Heisman talk especially as Texas goes into more conference play.

If Ehlinger continues with this type of play, he will find himself in New York at the end of the season.
