1. Kyle Trask proved to be reliable in his first start

Saturday was Kyle Trask’s second game as the quarterback at Florida, but his first start. He took over last week after an injury to Feleipe Franks and led a comeback win over Kentucky, but questions still remained.

That was such an emotionally charged rally from the Gators after the Franks injury. Could Trask lead the offense up and down the field on a week to week basis?

On Saturday, he gave his first answer to that question. Trask went 20-of-28 for 293 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions. At the end of the day, those two interceptions were Trask’s only two mistakes. For the most part, he was good.

It helps a lot to have playmakers like Van Jefferson, Tyrie Cleveland, and Freddie Swain on the outside, as well.

Dan Mullen‘s team didn’t watch their season end when Franks went down last week. On Saturday, Trask confirmed that, at the very least, the Gators still have a shot to win some big games.
