2. (3-0). Memphis Tigers. vs. Navy. player. 858. .

The American Athletic Conference has Thursday night to themselves and it is a key early match-up between West division foes Memphis and Navy. The Tigers are 10-point favorites.

Memphis is 3-0 with victories over Ole Miss, Southern and South Alabama. Not exactly murderers row, but you can only play the teams that are on your schedule. The Tigers struggled offensively against Ole Miss but put up 55 points on Southern and 42 points on South Alabama. The Tigers defense has been even more impressive so far. The top ranked defense in the conference is allowing only 13 points and 226 total yards per game.

The key for the Memphis will be stopping the Navy rushing attack. As any college football fan knows, the Midshipmen will serve up a healthy dose of triple option. Knowing it is coming and stopping it are two different things and the Tigers must be prepared.

Navy is trying to prove the last couple down years were just an aberration and they desire getting back to winning seasons. A good start would be to upset Memphis on the road. If Navy can wear down the Tiger defense with their rushing attack, they have a good chance in this one.
