Pick Analysis. 4-0. AAC. 884. Scouting Report. SMU Mustangs. 2. player

The SMU Mustangs enter the watch with a bang. Fresh off a 41-38 win against the TCU Horned Frogs, they are off to their first 4-0 start since 1984. Head coach Sonny Dykes has put all the pieces Chad Morris left in Dallas together for his own brand of spread offense.

What makes the Mustangs primed to make it to the NY6 is their schedule. They have a Power Five win, and they avoid UCF in their East division crossover. The one challenge in their schedule is they do have two of their three toughest games this season on the road. They travel to Memphis and Navy, but get Temple at home.

The Fighting Hank Bachmeiers have become the commanders of the watch, and winter is coming. However, they’ll take on the lead of the NY6 watch without leading tackler Ezekiel Noa. Their schedule sets up fairly well, but they do have two road games. The Broncos go to Provo and face BYU in October; they travel to Logan, Utah to face Utah State in November.

The biggest question facing Boise is can they do this with a true freshman quarterback. Losing Noa his a huge blow to the defense, but they have a shot as long as the run game remains solid. They found a way against Florida State, but they don’t want “hammerin'” Hank Bachmeier throwing it that often on a regular basis.
