1. Avoid the big-win hangover

We’ve seen it before time and time again in college football, where a team gets a big win in a key game, and then they come out flat in the next game, and keep an inferior opponent in the ball game until the end.

It happened the last week with UCF, beating Stanford then losing to Pitt. It almost happened with Virginia, as they held on to beat Old Dominion last week after beating Florida State.

Beating Michigan was an important milestone for the Badgers, and they’ll have to play hard from start to finish against Northwestern. They haven’t been good, but they play the Badgers well and will be looking for a comeback. I expect the Badgers to try to score early and maintain their lead throughout.
