1. USC’s receiving corps can overwhelm the Huskies secondary

There will always be plays to be made on the defensive side of the ball, so let’s not forget about a Trojan defense that held their own against the Utes last week. Nevertheless, USC has a significant amount of offensive talent that simply can’t be ignored, even if it comes at the expense of glossing over the defense in this article.

With that said, how USC’s receiving corps functions against Washington’s secondary may be the most indicative of which team will come out on top. With a trio consisting of Michael Pittman Jr., Tyler Vaughns‘ and Amon-Ra St. Brown, the talent is undeniably present. However, that talent will have to be on display if the Trojans hope to dismiss their road woes and take down the Huskies.

After all, the Washington pass-defense has been far from a push-over in 2019. A revamped secondary has proven to have a collective nose for the ball while taking on a bend-but-don’t-break philosophy, one that has resulted in opposing teams failing to complete a pass of over 28 yards this far into the season.

Fink may not be the most physically gifted, so don’t expect pinpoint throws on a consistent basis. With that said, he does know the offense well and would benefit greatly from having at least one open receiving on any given play. This group has the potential to do that, and they might just have to if they want to continue their fight for the 2019 Pac-12 Championship.
