1. Irish are back on track

Notre Dame’s performance on Saturday was especially refreshing for the Irish after a loss last week to Georgia.

It was the marquee game of the weekend, and losing in a spot like that could certainly de-rail a team’s progress. Instead, the Irish bounced back, and seven days after that big loss, got a big win.

The 18th ranked Cavaliers provided a stout test for Notre Dame, and the Irish passed with flying colors. They made Virginia completely one dimensional, and were able to wear them down in the second half.

Notre Dame hosts Bowling Green next week, but then a big two-game stretch comes up. First, USC will come to South Bend, and then the Irish will travel to Ann Arbor to play Michigan.

The loss a week ago was obviously disappointing for Notre Dame, but on Saturday, the focus turned completely to the future. This team still has a chance to do big things.
