2. Tanner Morgan is for real

Tanner Morgan had one incomplete pass on Saturday. That is really all that needs to be said about the sophomore Kentucky-native. When Tanner was named the starter, it was because of his ability to push the ball down the field with accuracy. His arm and anticipation was on full display in this game. He put the ball in stride all game long.

Not only did he have just one incomplete pass today against the Boilermakers, he had explosive plays all game long. The Gophers had five plays of twenty yards or more including a 70-yard pass. Most of those were yards after the catch, but what Morgan did extraordinarily well all game long was put the ball on his receivers in stride where they just ran under the ball. He killed Purdue with the RPO game.

Morgan also threw the slant rout flawlessly today. You didn’t see a single receiver have to stop or have the ball thrown behind him all game long.

With what PJ Fleck and that offensive staff wants to do, Morgan has an opportunity to put up some big numbers this season. He’s a gamer that can push the ball down the field with accuracy.
