3. FSU’s offensive line needs work

NC State was able to get in the backfield all night long and disrupt the Florida State offense. Although the Florida State offense was able to score 31 points on the game, they gave up eight total sacks on Hornibrook. The alarming eight sacks were drive killers that Florida State had to overcome on their drives time and time again and were placed in tough third-down situations that the Seminoles found their way out of somehow.

On top of the eight sacks given up, they had six more tackle for losses that hurt the run game. Not even the speed of running back Cam Akers was able to avoid the less than stellar offensive line play.

We will give credit where credit is due though, defensive lineman Larrell Murchison was a force to be reckoned with 3.5 sacks and blowing up multiple plays in the backfield with six tackles on the night. The FSU offensive line will have to improve week to week if they want their QB’s to be upright for the remainder of the season, look for this unit to be a soft spot the second half of the season.
