2. Tyler Huntley didn’t look injured as he carved up the Cougars

After the Friday-night loss against USC in Week 4, Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley looked to be suffering through a foot injury. Though he was limping around through the week, Huntley took the field for the Utes and outperformed the top quarterback in the country. It was a standout showing that showcased Huntley’s all-around strength as both a passer and a runner.

Huntley did most of the damage with his arm, completing 21 of his 30 attempts for 334 yards and two passing touchdowns. The Utah quarterback hit Devonta’e Henry-Cole from 11 yards out for the team’s first score of the game and found Samson Nacua for a 52-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Huntley also chipped in on the ground, ending the day with 31 rushing yards on his six carries. He ran in a 15-yard score in the third quarter, and added a second short rushing touchdown for good measure with 1:21 remaining in the fourth quarter to ice the contest. Huntley doesn’t have to run a lot, but the mere threat of him taking off keeps defenses honest and opens everything else up on the field for Utah.

With four total touchdowns, Huntley continues to show the country he is among the premier signal callers out west. As the dual-threat star continues to play his way back to form, he is only going to be more dangerous for Utah’s remaining opponents in the Pac-12.
