Pick Analysis. Oregon Ducks. player. Scouting Report. Quarterback. Justin Herbert. 10. 48

With two quarterbacks already off the board and Jameis Winston failing to move the needle for the franchise, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Oregon’s Justin Herbert with the 10th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s got elite size at 6-foot-6, but hasn’t always lived up to the hype.

Herbert’s amassed 77 career passing touchdowns and over 8,000 yards through the air, but he’s only played in just 33 games over four seasons as the starter. That’s a great number of games for the typical college quarterback, but Herbert’s career seems unfulfilled with the talent he possesses.

He suffered a broken collarbone in 2017 that forced him to miss five games, while also dealing with the turnover the turnover of the coaching staff that recruited him. Still, Herbert’s only thrown 17 interceptions in his career, so it’s not like he’s making a ton of mistakes on the field.

Elite arm talent is a phrase that will dominate conversations leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft, and Herbert is a guy who has it. And with his build — and the undoubted phase of the combine where teams fall in love with quarterbacks — Herbert could rise even higher than projected here.
