Kenneth Murray. Linebacker. Oklahoma Sooners. 20. player. 28. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Raiders once again opt for a veteran presence under Mayock and Gruden as they draft Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray with their second pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Murray’s been the one constant for the Sooners defensively for the past three seasons, and his tackling dominance will continue in the middle of the Raider defense.

Murray’s been a machine for the Sooners, racking up 223 tackles as a freshman and sophomore combined. Through four games in 2019, he’s made 31 stops, nearly eight tackles per game. He moves sideline-to-sideline in the spread out Big 12 where offenses sling the ball all over the field. In addition to that, he’s managed 23.5 tackles-for-loss and seven total sacks in his career.

With the Raiders’ two first-round picks in this 2020 NFL Mock Draft, they should have their leaders for the next decade on that side of the ball. Both Grant Delpit and Murray are studs who can patrol the middle of a NFL field. With that locked down, they’ll be able to address the rest of their deficiencies in free agency and in later rounds of the draft.
