player. 42. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Cornerback. Florida Gators. CJ Henderson. 24

The Florida Gators CJ Henderson has great size at 6-foot-1 and 202 lbs. for a cornerback, and while the San Francisco 49ers already have Richard Sherman and Jason Verrett, there’s no harm in adding some youth to the position group.

Henderson’s missed three games in 2019 for the Gators, but he really impressed as a freshman and sophomore for Florida the past two seasons. He tallied six interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns, 11 pass deflections, and even made noise in opponent’s backfields with five tackles for loss and three sacks.

This big-play ability would be a welcomed addition to any team, but for a team on the verge of a Super Bowl? And at this point in the first round? He’s almost a no-brainer.

The Gators are currently 5-0 with upcoming games against LSU, South Carolina and Georgia in the next three weeks. If he’s capable of returning to the field and playing like the Henderson of the past two seasons, he’ll undoubtedly be on every team’s radar who’s looking for secondary help.
