Pick Analysis. Alabama Crimson Tide. 49. Scouting Report. Defensive Line. Raekwon Davis. 27. player

The Green Bay Packers have added a plethora of defensive players the past two seasons, including Adrian Amos, Jaire Alexander, Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith. Two of them play in the secondary, while the other two are skilled pass rushers. Adding Alabama’s Raekwon Davis in the middle of their defensive line will help all of them.

The 6-foot-7, 312-pound interior defensive lineman for the Crimson Tide will help the Packers’ defense tremendously. He’ll be able to eat up multiple blockers, giving more 1-on-1 matchups to the pass rushers on the outside. And if they’re able to put greater pressure on opposing quarterbacks, the secondary will take yet another step forward and be able to create more turnovers on the back-end.

Davis’ production has tailed off since his breakout sophomore year in 2017 when he tallied 69 tackles (10 tackles-for-loss), 8.5 sacks and one interception, but the potential is still there. It’s difficult for Crimson Tide players to have too many great seasons because, well, there are so many great players that pass through Tuscaloosa. Davis is one of them, though, and the Packers would see great improvements if they were to draft him.
