3. The Stills Brothers will earn national recognition

The best brotherly-duo in college football resides in Morgantown, West Virginia — the Stills brothers — where Dante (sophomore, No. 55) and Darius (junior, No. 56) lead the Mountaineers in tackles for loss and sacks.

Dante has made 6.5 tackles for loss, including four sacks, while Darius has tallied 5.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. In addition to leading the ‘Eers in these two categories, they rank second and third among Big 12 defenders in sacks. The Big 12 isn’t as pass-happy as years prior with Kliff Kingsbury now in the NFL and the Oklahoma State Cowboys having one of the country’s best running backs, but don’t expect this production to fade through October.

While the Stills brothers have been playing at an elite level, they haven’t racked up these numbers by themselves, it’s been a team effort. Being able to sit a play here and there helps, and the ‘Eers have that luxury with a handful of useful players up front, including Reese Donahue, Jordan Jefferson, Reuben Jones and Jeffery Pooler. With any great group of players, though, there’s always a leader.

The Mountaineers have two that are home-grown in Dante and Darius Stills.
