Week 6 of college football features three ranked matchups. Do any of the teams in these ranked games need to fear being the victim of an upset?
The calendar shifts to October and conference games are now in full swing. This month should bring some clarity and provide separation between the conference contenders and the conference pretenders. We are still about a month away from the first College Football Playoff rankings being released with plenty of football to be played out before then.
A quick look back to Week 5 and it was not good for picking upsets. We were skunked, going zero for five on the week. Looked silly with some of the picks (Maryland upsetting Penn State…woof). But hey, we can’t win them all and hope to bounce back this week.
Clemson avoided a monumental upset on the road at North Carolina. The biggest upset was Arizona State taking down 15th-ranked Cal. The Pac-12 is likely out of the playoff discussion with no undefeated teams remaining before the end of the first month of the season.
Surprisingly no Pac-12 teams appear on the upset list this week. But there are several teams with tough tests away from home. Should make for a good weekend to be glued to the television. The odds for each game are provide by Bovada.
