We are about halfway through the college football season and things are getting more exciting by the week. Have a free Saturday? Let’s binge-watch.
Week 6 is upon us, everyone. Many teams are emerging as leaders and others have sunk to the bottom quickly.
I’m sitting at 45-17 with my picks so far this season, which while it isn’t bad, I’m starting to wonder about my picking abilities, so if for some reason you are using my picks to make your weekly bets or something crazy like that, you probably shouldn’t. Just a word of advice.
On that note, let’s start with Saturday morning’s slate.
No. 14 Iowa at No. 19 Michigan (12 p.m. ET – FOX)
There are quite a few major matchups this week and this is one of them. The Iowa Hawkeyes are undefeated and head to Michigan to face off against a Wolverine team that, while ranked, has more questions than answers. A loss to Wisconsin? Not too bad. A near loss to Army? Pretty bad.
For Jim Harbaugh and Co., I feel like this is a must-win in Ann Arbor. Can Shea Patterson put together a performance that outplays the Iowa defense which has been on fire throughout the start of the season? I’m not so sure.
Prediction: Michigan hangs around, just like Iowa State did, but this is a Hawkeye win when it’s all said and done.
No. 21 Oklahoma State at Texas Tech (12 p.m. ET – FS1)
Texas Tech is coming off a dominating loss to Oklahoma. It is a loss that everyone expected but giving up 55 points when you are trying to sell and new and improved defense. I don’t care how good Oklahoma is, that is a punch to the gut for sure.
On the other side of this one, Oklahoma State just beat a good Kansas State team after just barely losing to the Longhorns a couple of weeks ago. The Cowboys lost to the Red Raiders a season ago, but is it revenge time on the road?
Prediction: Oklahoma State wins behind the legs of running back Chubba Hubbard.
