3. Take care of business

If you are an Irish fan, you should not want to see more than two quarters of the young man in the picture above these words. Ian Book should only be needed for a half — if that — if Notre Dame takes care of business early.

It’s Week 6 of the season and every team you are going to play for the rest of the season has tape on you so there isn’t anything to hide in your playbook. Maybe you try to get the running game going early to get your offensive line and running backs in rhythm, but they should come out with the intent of squashing any notion that Bowling Green might have of even considering a thought of having a chance in this one.

That might sound a bit over the top, but that’s what elite teams do to inferior opponents. Need proof? Go and re-watch what Ohio State did to Florida Atlantic or what Alabama did to Duke. When you are better, don’t dawdle around. Go out, execute, and dominate your opponent.

Notre Dame should have no issue scoring 40 points in the first half of this game.
