1. Stop Shamari Brooks

As good as the Tulsa offense is going through the passing game, Shamari Brooks has really been a force in the running game. With four touchdowns in the last three games and 29 carries in two separate games this year, Tulsa leans on Brooks to regulate the offense and put them in good second and third-down situations. If you can stop Brooks from these running downs, the defense is going to be in a great situation to win this ballgame.

SMU will have to avoid the backbreakers that Shamari Brooks can provide such as 3rd and 2 and short-yardage late down runs. Brooks has been especially great in the second half of games, this is going to be huge for SMU to stay fresh upfront even late in the fourth and keep their wits about them.

Expect SMU to load the box and outnumber the Tulsa offense in the trenches to force senior Zach Smith to throw. If they can do this, it will be a fun night in Dallas for the Mustangs.
