3. Gabriel Davis will set up for a run at the Biletnikoff Award

As Dillon Gabriel posts huge games at quarterback, his biggest beneficiary will be wide receiver Gabriel Davis. The junior wideout is on the Biletnikoff Award watch list, awarded to the top pass-catcher in the country each season. With a big month in October, Davis will set up for a legitimate shot at the award this year.

Davis is tied with two other players at eight receiving touchdowns through the month of September, putting him one touchdown behind Hawaii’s Cedric Byrd in the race to lead the nation in scoring catches. Currently in the top 15 in receiving yards, and he is going to vault quickly up the charts over the next three contests.

After posting two straight 100-yard games with multiple touchdowns per game against Pitt and UConn to close out the month, he is going to extend that streak to five games against Cincinnati, East Carolina, and Temple.

Davis already has 499 receiving yards to go with those eight touchdowns. By the end of October, Davis is going to have more than 900 receiving yards and at least 13 touchdown catches. That is going to set him up for a big run at the Biletnikoff in November and will keep UCF in the race for their third straight New Year’s Six berth.
