10/12 vs. Hawaii. Boise State Broncos. 16. 895. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. leading 14-0 in second quarter at UNLV. player

Boise State has a clear path to the New Year’s Six as long as they keep winning in Mountain West play. The Broncos take on UNLV in Las Vegas in late-night Week 6 play. Chaos is always possible when west-coast action commences under the lights, but given Bryan Harsin’s team is favored by more three and a half touchdowns it would be a major upset if they fall this week.

With UCF and SMU both crashing out of the AP Top 25 after sustaining losses, the Broncos are left with Memphis and Cincinnati as their new challengers out of the AAC. Beyond that, only Appalachian State in the Sun Belt is still undefeated. With Hawaii and BYU looming on the schedule before the end of October, the degree of difficulty will ramp up in a good way for Boise State.

A loss in either of those games probably won’t knock the Broncos completely out of the Top 25. Falling in Sin City to a 1-3 Rebels squad is different matter. If they happen to suffer a massive upset to close out Week 6, expect them to drop into the land of others receiving votes.
