College Football Rankings 2019: Projected Top 25, Week 7 – Florida climbs
By Zach Bigalke
Washington will remain in the top 15 of the AP Top 25 this week — as long as they manage to avoid an upset in Pac-12 After Dark action against Stanford. After losing 10 of their last 14 contests against the Cardinal, that is hardly a given for Chris Petersen’s team. But assuming Washington shakes off an early deficit, they will remain in the mid-teens when the next AP Top 25 comes out for Week 7 on Sunday afternoon.
Despite one of the best secondaries in the country, the Huskies looked shaky early against Davis Mills and the Cardinal passing attack. Washington follows up their trip to the Farm with another road game in Week 7 against Arizona in Tucson. A home date against Oregon concludes their October schedule before thee Huskies take a bye on the weekend before Halloween.
A loss against Stanford might not knock Washington completely out of the AP Top 25, but they would be clinging to a spot on the margins of the poll at No. 24 or No. 25 if they do fall in the Bay Area. If they do fall out, it would open the door for Texas A&M to remain among the Top 25 this week or Cincinnati to climb in with the other AAC teams at the bottom of the poll.
