player. Scouting Report. 10/12 vs. Michigan State. Wisconsin Badgers. 8. 809. Pick Analysis. won 48-0 vs. Kent State

Wisconsin had little trouble against MAC visitors Kent State on Saturday afternoon, trouncing the Golden Flashes 48-0 in Madison to improve to 5-0 on the first weekend of October. The top-ranked Badgers defense posted their third shutout of the season as they held Kent State to just 124 total yards of offense.

Jonathan Taylor had a huge performance against the overmatched Golden Flashes defense, posting 186 rushing yards and four touchdowns along with three catches for 29 yards and a fifth score before taking the bench less than a minute into the second half for the Badgers. Coan once again didn’t have to do too much at quarterback, but he still posted two touchdown strikes and 134 yards through the air on 12-of-15 passing before ceding the field to backup Graham Mertz.

Blowing out a MAC opponent won’t be enough to push Wisconsin further up the AP Top 25 this week, but they will remain comfortably positioned in the top 10 as they head deeper into an October slate that includes next week’s home showdown against Michigan State and road trips to Illinois and Ohio State.
