College Football Rankings 2019: Projected Top 25, Week 7 – Florida climbs
By Zach Bigalke
Baylor pulled away from Kansas State on the road to improve to 5-0 for the first time since pulling off the feat four straight years between 2013 and 2016. Back then the Bears were regularly featured in the AP Top 25, and they will return to the rankings this week thanks to the big win in Big 12 play.
Charlie Brewer had a solid day at quarterback, throwing for 230 yards and a touchdown. John Lovett ran for two touchdowns, Gerry Bohanon added another on the ground, and the ground game finished with 158 team rushing yards. Meanwhile, Baylor’s defense took care of business against a Wildcats crew held to just 341 total yards of offense.
Next week Matt Rhule’s team will be at home in Waco for a visit from a Texas Tech team that upset Oklahoma State in Week 6 to open up a spot for the Bears in the poll. A visit to Stillwater to face those Cowboys also looms in October along with a home game against West Virginia to close out the month.
