2. Shea Patterson’s legacy

Just like his coach, Shea Patterson’s Michigan legacy will be ending this season. The former number one ranked high school quarterback transferred from Ole Miss to Michigan after his sophomore year. Although things have not worked out as planned at Michigan, he probably made the right decision to get away from Ole Miss.

His first year with the Wolverines, Patterson threw for 2,600 yard, 22 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Simply, these are not great numbers. They are definitely not good by NFL standards. And that is exactly why Patterson decided to return to Ann Arbor for his senior season and forgo the NFL Draft. Again, this was probably another good decision.

However, his numbers, and performance in general, hasn’t really improved. Patterson is a decent game manager with very little mobility or play-creating ability. Therefore, he is unlikely to find himself drafted very high at all in the next NFL Draft. He may go undrafted completely. At the best, we will see Patterson in a couple NFL preseason games next year and that will be it.
