Oklahoma State Football: 3 takeaways from disappointing loss at Texas Tech
2. Oklahoma State couldn’t stop Jet Duffey
Backup quarterback Jet Duffey had a huge game for the Red Raiders. He was starting in place for Tech’s injured starter Alan Bowman. Duffey had some good games last year for the Red Raiders, so it should come as no surprise he was able to find plenty of success in Saturday’s game as well.
Duffey had five total touchdowns on the day with four coming through the air and one coming on the ground. He ran when he had to and showed his athletic ability, however, it was his impressive passing performance that helped the Red Raiders in this game. Duffey was poised in the pocket when he had to and hit some big-time throws as he threw for over 420 yards and showed that he could be the guy moving forward.
I’m not sure on the time table that Bowman is expected to return, but Duffey had the Red Raiders’ offense rolling. His play today is good enough to give Texas Tech a chance in every conference game.
