We are about halfway through the college football season now and the top of the top is holding steady. Who are our biggest winners and losers after Week 6?

We saw a lot of action this week and a lot of moving around throughout the rankings. The top six are holding steady as of right now, though Georgia and Ohio State are now tied for that No. 3 spot. It is the rest of the rankings though that really saw some movement after Week 6.

Before we get into the big winners and losers, let’s welcome the newcomers. Baylor debuts at No. 22 after starting the season 5-0, including an impressive win over Kansas State this week. Memphis sits undefeated so far and make’s its debut at No. 23. Cincinnati makes its first appearance after taking down UCF and Minnesota rounds out the newcomers, sitting undefeated on the season so far.

Now, let’s talk winners and losers, starting with the one loser that still has a spot in this week’s rankings.

Loser: Auburn Tigers (No. 7 to No. 12)

Auburn saw their reign in the top 10 come to an end with a loss to the Gators. I, for one, did not see this one coming. I had a lot of faith in Auburn’s experience in the trenches and expected the Tigers to come out with a victory to challenge LSU and Alabama in the West. That, of course, is not what happened though and we are now looking at an Auburn team who has likely lost their chance at a playoff spot. That isn’t anything to feel down about though. With a true freshman quarterback who has yet to really be an overall game changer, they are still in the running for a New Years Six spot.
