Playoff hopes are dashed, dreams are crushed, and the Top 10 rankings are ready for a bit of a shake-up after Week 6 upsets in college football.

The best College Football Playoff contenders remained unscathed and most unchallenged through the weekend’s Week 6 action, save for the one game featuring two top-10 teams in No. 10 Florida’s home victory against No. 7 Auburn.

The drama, though, was as good as you’ll find. Tulsa figured to lead this list after leading by 21 points entering the fourth quarter against undefeated SMU, only to see the Mustangs tie the game in regulation before a 43-37 overtime victory. SMU is now 6-0 for the first time in 37 years.

Kansas and Les Miles jumped out to an early lead against OU after a weather delay. Michigan won an ugly game in the trenches by pulling out a 10-3 victory against Iowa, whom many regarded as a trendy pick to win in Ann Arbor before the game.

Finally, though, some late-night Pac-12 action delivered a clear upset, as Stanford powered past No. 15-ranked Washington to knock the Huskies out of the conference title race. At least Washington will still have its date with the Cougars in the Apple Cup.
