Welcome back to “As the ACC Turns” This week Clemson sleepwalked on Saturday, which was okay because they were off this weekend.

The Eagles were prey not predators; their defense was eaten by the, um, Cardinals — not the other ones but, yes, the ones from Louisville. Before you even ask, Eagles should prey on Cardinals, but it’s a metaphor — let’s keep going. They took their bird mascots in very literal terms with both teams throwing for over 300 yards each.

The Hokies had big brother syndrome, and took it out on the Hurricanes. Big brother syndrome — No one can talk about my little brother but me. You can’t talk about my little brother. The Hokies didn’t like other people talking about them. Hey Hurricanes, you had one job to do; be ready to play with an extra week to get ready. Could you do that? No, I guess not. The comeback was admirable, but if you hadn’t stunk up the joint for two quarters there wouldn’t have been a need for a comeback.

Pitt was dominant, then they weren’t, and then — yup supersize me a Pitt special, baby. The Panthers jumped all over Duke on offense and defense, but let the Blue Devils come back, but had a Pitt special on the grill cooking, and got it off just in time to defeat the Blue Devils at Wallace Wade Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets are still taking things one day at a time which means they lost again, but had their best offensive performance. The schedule was light, but he excitement was high on “As the ACC Turns.” So, with all due respect to The Textile Bowl or “The Rivalry that really ain’t” here are this week’s ACC power rankings.
