Pac-12 Football Power Rankings, Week 7: Down goes Washington
By Kyle Grondin
This is a complete team, with a stout defense and enough weapons on offense to make plays. Jayden Daniels and Eno Benjamin are a great duo, and it’ll be interesting to see how this team performs with a young quarterback in the coming weeks.
The next two games present contrasting styles, with Arizona State having to keep up with Washington State next and then a dog fight they’ll be more comfortable in against a better Utah team. If they continue to find ways to win, it’ll be time to take this team serious as Utah’s biggest contender.
How did Utah respond to their frustrating loss to Matt Fink and USC? By scoring 38 points on Washington State in a dominating performance. This was all without Zack Moss.
Utah continues to be an impressive team, and has gotten through the majority of air raid offenses that they struggle with each season. They should be able to win every game from here on out if they stay healthy. If Tyler Huntley can play like that all season long, they’ll be nearly impossible to beat.
This team continues to be one-quarter away from a perfect season. They took care of business against a difficulty Cal defense, and won 17-7. If they found a way to beat Auburn, they’re on par with teams such as Ohio State, Georgia and Oklahoma as a potential top four team.
But they continue to win now, look impressive and keep their playoff hopes alive. A couple of big wins and teams losing in front of them changes everything.
