Memphis at Temple (Saturday at 12 p.m. ET, ESPN2)

Spread: Memphis -6

With UCF backsliding to two losses this early in the season, the door in the AAC is wide open for another team to jump to the forefront of not only the conference hierarchy, but also the race for the New Year’s Six. While Cincinnati made a big statement by beating the Knights last week, both Memphis and Temple are both very much alive.

Temple comes in 4-1 with a dispiriting loss to Buffalo a few weeks ago, but the Owls also have a pair of Power Five wins over Maryland and Georgia Tech on the resume as well.

Memphis is undefeated, also having a Power Five skin-on-the-wall by beating Ole Miss on the opening weekend of the season, a win that looks better week-to-week as the Rebels continue to show improvement.

This game has the potential to be a shootout with two potent offenses facing off. Both teams average over 440 yards per game, and each have veteran quarterbacks capable of putting together big games that swing the tide in their favor.

I think Memphis is the real deal, and while Temple certainly has the chops to make this interesting, I look for the Tigers to go on the road and win, but not cover.

Pick: Memphis 34, Temple 31
