  • vs. Utah State (W 38-35)
  • at Rice (W 41-21)
  • vs. North Carolina (W 24-18)
  • vs. Elon (W 49-7)
  • at Boston College (W 27-24)

The Demon Deacons have had relative success in recent seasons. Wake Forest has won three straight bowl games and have not had a losing record since 2015. Head coach David Clawson is developing a resilient program and he and his team hopes to have their best season yet this year.

The reason for optimism is not dimmed by the lack of winning a lot of games it is because the Demon Deacons have been consistent and has become a respectable program that is hoping shock the nation and win the ACC Atlantic division.

Wake Forest is attempting to do is replicate when it accomplished in 2006. That season the Demon Deacons had an 11–2 record and won their first ACC title in over 36 years. Even though Clemson is the hands-down favorite to not only win their division, but also win the ACC title, it is not impossible for Wake Forest defeat them and capture the division title.

Wake Forest, for example, defeated North Carolina 24-18 this year. Clemson, on the other hand, needed a defensive stop on a two-point conversation attempt to defeat the Tar Heels by one point. This is not to say that the Demon Deacons are going to go to Clemson on Nov. 16 and defeat the Tigers, but it give the Wake Forest fan base hope moving forward.

The Demon Deacons somewhat similar to the Gophers have not always look dominate in their wins of their opponents this season. However, they are unbeaten up to this point and their schedule is also similar to Minnesota to where as they could theoretically be 9-0 before they travel to play Clemson for the battle over the ACC Atlantic division.

However, they have competition to win their division and the path is difficult with the big elephant in the room being Clemson. The future is bright and the Demon Deacons are looking forward to the opportunity to win the ACC.
