1. Jalen Hurts plays like he’s going to New York

Both the New York Giants and the New York Jets, so this isn’t an NFL Draft reference; it’s a reference to the Downtown Athletic Club in New York.

If the Sooners want to avenge their loss from last season’s game, Jalen Hurts has to come up big in this game. He can’t afford to be average in this game.

Texas’ secondary hasn’t played well this season, and they aren’t healthy. Jalen Hurts will have an opportunity to put up some serious numbers in this game. Texas blew out Louisiana Tech, but J’Mar Smith threw for over 300 yards and hit some deep passes in that game before it got out of hand.

In fact, the Texas pass defense hasn’t been good at all this season.

Defensive coordinator Todd Orlando wants to bring pressure, but hasn’t had much success getting to the quarterback so far this season.

Hurts needs to take advantage of all of this. Lincoln Riley, the best offensive play caller in football, will mix in some designed runs to keep the Texas defense honest; that could mean a long day for the ‘Horns.
