Arizona State Football: 3 takeaways from exciting win over Washington State
1. Jayden Daniels may just lead Arizona State to a Pac-12 title
When Arizona State lost Manny Wilkins after he passed for over 3,000 yards as a senior, many fans were worried about the future under center. It’s safe to say that worry is no longer valid.
Jayden Daniels, a true freshman, has come in and taken the reins of the offense and he looks like he may just be the best quarterback Arizona State has had in quite a while. He has led the Sun Devils into the AP Top 25 with road wins over ranked teams like Arizona State and Cal and he added yet another solid win against Washington State.
Now the Sun Devils are 5-1 on the season after the freshman passed for 363 yards and three touchdowns on 26-of-36 completions against the Cougars. He also came up clutch with a 17-yard touchdown run with just over 30 seconds left in the game to give the Sun Devils the game-winning score late.
Daniels just doesn’t seem to be fazed by the big stage and he’s getting more comfortable by the week.
The freshman quarterback might just mess around and lead his team to a Pac-12 title this season, especially with the league as wide open as it’s been in years.
