3. Jake Fromm is not a Heisman contender

Many have hung on to the thought that Jake Fromm is a Heisman Trophy contender for much of this first part of the 2019 season. However, after this game, we can finally close the door on that notion. Frankly, not only is his style of play much too conservative for a Heisman winner, but also his numbers simply do not support it.

Jake Fromm entered the game with an astounding 77.5 percent completion percentage. All things considered, his accuracy has been absolutely amazing. Additionally, the junior quarterback had still yet to throw an interception prior to this game. But, this perfect streak fell apart against the Gamecocks. Fromm had two interceptions, both coming at untimely moments.

Additionally, after six games of play, Fromm only has seven passing touchdowns and an average of 229 yards per game.  This is also a result of his lack of throws greater than 15 yards.

Jake Fromm is a great quarterback and will have a solid chance to succeed in the NFL. He has proven himself time and time again.  But, after this game where his team needed him to step up most, he failed to do so. Therefore, his Heisman chances are absolutely zero.
