2. Texas A&M’s lack of run game is killing Aggies

The Aggies don’t have a quarterback issue, which many people will disagree with me about. Kellen Mond showed a lot of grit and fight in this one. He made plays that were necessary to keep his team hanging around. Did he outplay Tua? No, of course not. But, he did enough with what he was given.

Here is the difference though, Alabama has a running game that put up 155 total rush yards. Texas A&M had to rely on Mond and his legs to bail them out of tough situations. So, even though they finished with 125 rushing yards, 90 of those were due to Mond and that just won’t do when you are trying to put together a balanced offensive attack.

We can’t just blame the Aggie running backs though, they are talented. Does it suck that Trayveon Williams left for the NFL and then they lost Jashaun Corbin to injury for the season? Yeah, but Spiller has the talent to fill that spot.

The issue? He can’t hold onto the ball and the offensive line isn’t making holes for him or for Jacob Kibodi. Without a successful running game, the Aggies don’t have much hope for the rest of the season.
