2020 NFL Mock Draft: Projected first round after Week 7
By Dakota Cox
The talent really drops off at the fourth overall pick, but the Jets can still get the best offensive line on the board in Andrew Thomas.
Let’s face it. The New York Jets have more problems than most people thought heading into this season, and that’s a hard place to be. They need a ton of help, but offensive line is their biggest need. They spent a lot of money on the defense last year, and they need to give their franchise quarterback more protection. Thomas might not save Sam Darnold from mono, but he can at least give him a cleaner pocket on the field.
Thomas has some ability to grow in his abilities, but the physical component is maxed out. He’s a part of one of the best offensive lines in college football, and he should be able to be a building block of an NFL offensive line.
Ideally, you would be able to take Jerry Jeudy or another top player in the class. However, the Jets have to prioritize need with their first pick, so they end up taking Thomas in this mock draft.
