(6-1). at South Carolina. Florida Gators. 2. player. 840. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Reeling after their first loss of the season against LSU, the Florida Gators continue their road travels against South Carolina. The Gators are six-point favorites.

Florida may have lost to LSU by two touchdowns, but the Gators kept pace with the Tigers for a good chunk of the game. They racked up 457 yards, hasd 28 touchdowns and led by 17 minutes in the time of possession battle. But ultimately the only stat that matters is the scoreboard. The Gators were let down by their defense, which was shredded by Joe Burrow and the Tigers.

South Carolina evened their record to 3-3 last week by pulling the upset of the week and one of the biggest of the year as they took down Georgia in double overtime in Athens. The Gamecocks did not play well on offense, particularly after quarterback Ryan Hilinski went down with what looked like a knee sprain. But the Gamecock defense was ferocious, causing four Bulldog turnovers including a pick six.

The Gamecocks entered the season with one of the toughest schedules in all of FBS football. With their earlier losses in the season, they needed to get an upset or two to maintain any hopes of achieving a bowl. If South Carolina can repeat their defensive performance from last week, another upset is in the making.
