Boise State Football: 3 keys to victory vs. BYU in Week 8
2. Play your game
Boise State is a run-first offense and everyone knows it. With multiple running backs able to break loose at any time, Boise State is a threat to run for 200-plus yards every single game. Especially with a new starting quarterback, Boise State will have to keep it on the ground and find success through either George Holani or Robert Mahone.
Both running backs have run for over 360 yards and been one of the best one-two punches in the NCAA. With Boise State’s ground and pound and the offense they like to run, it may seem methodical at times, but this is where they have found success.
BYU likes a more up-tempo offense and will make you play a game where they want to trade blows after each possession. The Broncos have to set the tone for the game and keep running the ball through their two-headed monster.
If BYU is able to get the Broncos out of rhythm and forces Cord to pass over 30 times this game, the Broncos could be in trouble.
