2. Limit the big plays from Florida

The first few weeks of the season were not favorable for the Gamecocks. The biggest issue overall was the lack of tackling. That fundamental ability is caused an onslaught of big plays against the Gamecock defense. It proved to be too much for the Gamecocks to overcome against teams like Alabama and Missouri.

Florida may not be viewed as a big play offense by some, but the numbers do not lie. There are six players who have had plays of over 60 yards this season — six players. The longest play of the season came off of a Lamical Perine run against LSU last week for 88 yards and a score. The Gators’ offense has the possibility to take it to the house on every single play.

A flip has been switched in the previous two weeks for South Carolina. They went from missing several key tackles every game to being a tackling machine. They will have to keep that up to have a chance against the Gators.

The Gators receiving corps have plenty of speed so the double moves will almost certainly be in the game plan. A single missed tackle in the open field could be the difference in this one.
