1. Clemson’s defense is scary

Outside of Javian Hawkins’ 125 yards, the Louisville Cardinals had no offense. Their offensive line could not block the Tigers. Both Cardinal quarterbacks combined for eight completions and 107 yards.

Louisville had 10 drives of 10 or fewer plays including six three-and-outs. The Cardinals tried to get their receiver Tutu Atwell involved, but Clemson diagnosed that early and often.

This was proof you need multiple options against a defense like Clemson. You can’t have just two or three guys on offense if you want to have a chance against Clemson. More importantly, you have to be able to block Clemson’s elite defensive line.

Although the Tigers haven’t been super dynamic offensively this season, the defense has been dominant all season long. This is the fourth game they’ve given up 10 or fewer points.
