2. There’s no debate about the No. 1 back anymore

If there was ever a debate about who the No. 1 running back should be heading into this one, it’s no longer relevant. Johnnie Lang and Kene Nwangwu were in the running for the starting job in the backfield up until this point in the season, but Breece Hall is clearly the best option.

Before October began, I made a bold prediction that Hall would take over as the starting running back this month and I was probably looked at as a crazy person. Now? Hall has made me look pretty smart for being high on him.

In the month of September, he had just 102 yards on 17 carries and wasn’t getting much of a shot from Matt Campbell, but he’s bounced back to have a breakout October. Well, the first game against TCU wasn’t ideal as he had just two yards on a carry, but things have picked up in the past couple of games.

In fact, Hall has rushed for 315 yards and five touchdowns over the last two games, including a career-high 183 yards and two touchdowns on 9.3 yards per touch and he caught three passes for 73 yards. This kid is an absolute monster and a future All-Big 12 runner.
