2. Arizona State was completely undisciplined

Give Utah credit where it is due, as the Utes dominated on both sides of the line and controlled the action. However, the Sun Devils also hurt themselves time and time again.

Al total, Arizona State committed 12 penalties resulting in 122 yards lost. While most teams can make up for that negative yardage total in offense, this was not the night that it could be done. The Sun Devils had just 136 yards from scrimmage including 25 yards passing.

Arizona State also committed two turnovers, which ended up being costly because they forced four Utah miscues.
