The Skinny

The Holiday Bowl could feature two of the most disappointing teams in college football if it ends up being Michigan and Washington.

The Wolverines were pegged by many as the Big Ten favorite, but Jim Harbaugh’s team has now dropped two conference games already after losing 28-21 to Penn State on Saturday night in Happy Valley.

Washington, on the other hand, is now 5-3 after a close home loss to Oregon. With all three defeats coming in-conference, the Huskies’ chances of a repeat Rose Bowl berth are out the window.

Tom Allen’s Indiana Hoosiers just keep finding ways to win football games, and after Saturday’s 34-28 win over Maryland, Indiana is now just one win away from bowl eligibility for the first time under Moore. It will be interesting to see if this Hoosiers squad can finish and finally get over that six-win hump. Indiana started the season 4-1 last year before dropping six of its final seven games and finishing 5-7.

With a home game against Northwestern left on the schedule and road tilts against Nebraska and Purdue, odds seem to be in Indiana’s favor to get that elusive sixth victory.
