Ohio State Football: 3 reasons Buckeyes will beat Wisconsin in Week 9
By Dante Pryor
2. Ohio State has more playmakers
There are first-round picks all over the field for the Buckeyes. Justin Fields transferred to Ohio State to prove to everyone he can throw the football. If his growth continues, he’ll be a first-round pick. It’s OK to call J.K. Dobbins a freak athlete — we’ll use that term again to describe other players for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State has speed to burn on the perimeter, led by senior wide receiver Binjimen Victor the Buckeyes are five-deep at wide receiver, and they can all fly. Chris Olave, K.J. Hill, Austin Mack, and Garrett Wilson are YACs — that’s yards after the catch for the uninitiated — waiting to happen, and can score from anywhere on the field if they get free.
Make no mistake, the Badger defense is as tough and ornery as they come, but you can’t tackle what you can’t catch.
This seems like an appropriate place to use the term freak athlete. Chase Young is the best defensive end in the country in a year where there are a lot of really good ones. And yes, he’s a freak athlete. He is as strong as Alonzo Spellman, and as quick off the ball as Jevon Kearse. As great as the Bosa brothers were, Young is far better. He has a chance to be one of the greats if he continues the way he’s going.
The secondary are loaded with players who can both run and cover, led by cornerback Jeff Okudah they have a secondary that is hard to run past. Even if Wisconsin decides they want to go downfield against the Buckeyes even if they want to.
