1. Ohio State is on a mission

There are two games that linger in the psyche of both Ohio State players and fans. First was the “Nightmare at Kinnick” in 2017 and then there was the Tyler Trent game last season.

In the Iowa game, that was the Buckeyes’ year. They had the offense and the defense on that squad — it was supposed to be their return to the playoff. They went to Kinnick Stadium and promptly got blown out 55-24.

In the Purdue game, they had record-breaking quarterback Dwayne Haskins and another loaded offense against a rebuilding Purdue program on an emotional night when they honor superfan and Purdue student Trent. They promptly got blown out 46-20. This season, they are obliterating everything in front of them.

It’s an asinine argument to say teams don’t play anyone. Teams play their schedule. Check for how they beat teams, not who they play. Ohio State is executing on a different level offensively and stifling teams defensively. It might be easy to point to the Nebraska game or the Michigan State game, but I look at the Miami (OH) game.

Follow me for a second, the RedHawks are far inferior and the Buckeyes made them look as such. They didn’t let up offensively or defensively. The Buckeyes didn’t start slow and then overwhelm Miami (OH). They dominated them from start to finish.
