2. Jim Harbaugh’s job security

Many have discussed the notion that Jim Harbaugh’s job could very easily be gone at the end of this year, especially if the Wolverines don’t beat Ohio State. However, with this win over a No. 8 ranked Notre Dame team, he may have bought himself another year.

The final four games on Michigan’s schedule include matches against Maryland (away), Michigan State (home), Indiana (away), and Ohio State (home). The Wolverines could easily win the first three of these four games. In fact, they should win these games. Therefore, this would make their final record either 10-2 or 9-3, depending on whether they beat Ohio State.

And then, if Harbaugh finally gets a win over the Buckeyes, combined with this win over the Irish, I’d go as far to say that he earned himself two full years of security. A loss against Notre Dame would have completely changed the perspective of Jim Harbaugh’s success as a coach this season.
